Selection Process

In selecting members of the Bias Review Committee, the Executive Director of the CTC will consider the following desirable qualifications, at least one of which nominees should possess:

• represent a specific subgroup (e.g. racial or ethnic groups, rural or urban interests, individuals with diabilities, etc.)
• have direct experience working with students from these subgroups
• have theoretic or practical background in the prevention or identification of potential bias in educational content
• experience in providing professional development to current or prospective educators
• experience in teaching students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
• experience as a mentor or supervisor for educator candidates
• ability to work cooperatively and productively with other professionals
• willingness to commit time to the assigned tasks
