Committee Participation

Eligible pre-K–adult educators and educator preparation faculty will be appointed by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to participate in test development conferences.

Opportunities for participation include:

Subject Matter Advisory Panel (SMAP) is involved in defining the content of educator preparation program standards and the examination in their subject area. Panel members are asked to review draft test materials which include test objectives and test items. SMAP members may also assist the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) in other development activities.

A Bias Review Committee (BRC) reviews test materials for potential sources of bias according to established review criteria pertaining to test content, language, offense, stereotypes, and diversity. Members make recommendations to help prevent potential bias that would disadvantage a person because of her or his gender, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, or cultural, economic, or geographic background. Please visit our Bias Review Committee website for more information and instructions on how to apply.
